Morecambe - Lancaster

After we spent 2 hours at Caton and decided to go to Morecambe.  It is about 3 to 5 miles away from Caton.  Morecambe Bay is a large bay in northwest England. It is the largest  expanse of mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom.  We reached the coast lines of Morecambe Bay. It is low tide and there are stretches of brown mudflats and sand, no blue skies or blue seawater.

My daughter and husband decided to stay in the car so I am left with my friends. We wandered around the beach and enjoyed ourselves walking along the coastal bay. There are 5 different rivers draining into the bay. Much of the land around the bay is reclaimed forming salt marshes.  This bay is also infamous for its quick sand and high tides.

In 2004,  due to high tide and 23  illegal chinese immigrant cockle pickers had drowned in here due to the high tides.  It was hard for these immigrants to escape due to the quick sand and high tides. Lot of illegal chinese immigrants used to earn their living as cockle pickers.

We had walked for an hour around the beach and followed the coastal bay leaded to Blackpool. We stopped at Blackpool for an hour to visit my 3rd brother-in-law.  As we had not seen them for about 7 or 8 years since we have move back to UK.

After visited my brother-in-law for an hour. We went to Manchester City for our dinner.  We had enjoyed our beautiful cooked dinner and then proceeded our way home.  We reached home about 12.30 a.m. in the morning and my girl had school to attend the next morning.  We were knackered but it was a perfect ending for the day.
